Canadian Publishers Collection

This is the centrepiece of the Canadian Electronic Library. Over 70 leading Canadian publishers have to date made over 15,000 titles available for library use through the Canadian Publishers Collection. Many volumes and series critical for the pursuit of Canadian studies are available here. Most of these titles are also available under perpetual access licensing terms. In addition, about 4000 titles are available for perpetual access licensing only, having been excluded from subscription licensing by their publishers. Through the CRKN consortium license, over 8000 titles are accessible to most university libraries in Canada.

Bibliothèque numérique canadienne française

This collection provides a subset of the French-language titles in the Canadian Publishers Collection. These include titles from the major scholarly publishers in Quebec, fiction and non-fiction from Prise de Parole, as well as the French-language releases from many other CEL publishers. As of 2014 there are over 3200 titles in this growing collection. 

Canadian Publishers Collection OCUL Edition

This special collection for members of the OCUL consortium provides a subset of the Canadian Publishers Collection from which all titles from ACUP member publishers are removed. There are over 6800 titles currently in the collection, from over 50 publishers, including Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Coach House Books, Coteau Books, Dundurn, ECW Press, Fernwood Publishing, House of Anansi Press, Heritage House Publishing, IDRC Books, Inanna Publications, Institute for Research in Public Policy, ITCA Digital Education Systems, New Society Publishers, Prise de parole, Pembroke Publishers and Ronsdale Press.

The Irwin Law Collection

The entire catalogue of Canadian legal publisher Irwin Law is available through the Canadian Electronic Library. Over 190 titles published from 1997 to date are currently included in the collection, and new titles and updated editions are added to the collection as they appear.

The Ulysses Travel Guide Library

Ullysses Travel GuidesCanada’s leading travel publisher has released its entire collection of online travel guides as a CEL collection. With more than 167 titles available now, the collection includes all titles available from Ulysses as of winter 2013; subscribers will receive new titles as they are issued.

The Orca Digital Collection


Orca Book Publishers, Western Canada’s premier publisher of best-selling, award-winning children’s books, has released its entire digital collection as of fall 2010 on the Canadian Electronic Library. With 421 titles in the collection, there are selections for children of all ages and inclinations. To supplement the collection, Orca’s resource guides for teachers are included.

The Lemon-Aid Guides Online

A staple for libraries in print form, the Lemon-Aid Guides are now available online exclusively through the Canadian Electronic Library.Lemon-Aid Guides Online gives your library standing order access to new editions on an annual basis, as well as access to three years of back issues. Both editions are included: "New Cars and Trucks" and "Used Cars and Trucks."

The Grey House Directories Collection

Grey House, Canada’s most authoritative publisher of directory information, has released six of its key directories for inclusion in the Canadian Electronic Library. This collection offers an effective way of making this popular content conveniently available to all library users with no wait time.
