We used the results of the interviews and focus groups to inform the development of a survey that was administered to 5,436 students in grades 4-11 in all 10 provinces and 3 territories in 2013. [...] At the same time, teachers need to recognize the fact that students are turning to Wikipedia and teach them the specific authentication habits and skills they need to authenticate each article they want to use as a source. [...] What can be seen as one of the pieces of good news from our Phase III data is that the vast majority of students we surveyed are aware of the potential risks of networked communication and have a number of strategies to deal with the problems they encounter.
