For Quebec, it is difficult to estimate the number of workers exposed to carcinogens because relevant data are not collected in a systematic or representative manner for all regions or all substances. Nevertheless, there is a need to learn more about carcinogen exposure in order to identify industries and occupations where corrective or preventative action may be required, the ultimate goal being to reduce the incidence and even prevent the development of occupational cancers.
