The intent is to provide a list of sources and a summary of the best evidence on the topic that CADTH could identify using all reasonable efforts within the time allowed. [...] Of the seven guidelines included, four were developed in Australia,15-18 two were developed the United States of America,19,20 and one was developed in the United Kingdom.21 Details of these guidelines can be found in the Appendix. [...] The generalizability of this review to adult hospitalized patients could potentially be limited by the inclusion of one study with adolescents and children and the inclusion of two studies with patients in the community among the 52 studies included in the meta-analysis. [...] Limitations of this study include the number of participants, four week duration, lack of explanation for dropouts in the study, and the inclusion of only male patients. [...] Limitations of this study include the use of an arbitrary definition of fever as a temperature of 38ºC, which might lead to a slight underestimation of the incidence of clozapine-induced fever.
