The purpose of this research project was to assess whether licensees were displaying the signage as requested, to determine where they were displaying the material, and assess the impact of the campaign in terms of increasing the knowledge base of sellers of alcohol about FASD. [...] The majority of licensees chose to display the signage in the women‟s bathroom and close to the bar or cash register. [...] Given the rates of FASD in Canada, the importance of educating the public about the causes and effects of FASD, and the apparent high number of establishments that did not comply with the request of the media campaign, it appears that the perceptions of licensees must be changed about FASD so that they appreciate the importance of increasing their level of education and the level of awareness in t [...] Based on the low response rate in this project and the potentially low compliance rate with the media campaign, more research is required before any conclusions can be reached about the impact of media campaigns on the knowledge and awareness about FASD on licensees and the community.
