'The Mental Health Need Scale (MHNS) was designed to assess the degree of psychiatric symptomology among offenders in Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) that would allow for their allocation to an appropriate level of care. Several earlier versions of the tool were revised based on user feedback. Since 2015, the current version of the measure has been implemented nationally in CSC. This study examined the tool’s inter-rater reliability and aspects of its validity'--Executive summary, p. iii.
