[...] This lack of a comprehensive guideline has been a challenge for the provincial health system, and has resulted in a lack of awareness and use of the full scope of medical and psychosocial interventions available to treat opioid use disorder among care providers across the addiction care continuum. [...] A key component of an evidence-based provincial response is the delivery of health services that optimize engagement, care and treatment of individuals with opioid use disorder, and recognize the need for a diversity of available treatment options that can be matched to individual patient needs and circumstances.
