Government plan on official languages : Official bilingualism, a strength, 2011-2013

16 Sep 2011

In April 2009, the Official Languages Act turned 40. Considerable progress has been made in the past 40 years, but government recognizes that there is still a lot to be done in the area of official languages. The Government Plan developed by the Coordinating Committee covers the period from 2011 to 2013 and involves departments and agencies in the preparation of action plans. This implementation plan not only identifies the measures needed for the departments and agencies to meet their obligations under the Act, but also suggests positive action for the development of our linguistic communities.
