The findings from the three different data sets are integrated in the fifth and final chapter of the report and relevant conclusions with respect to each of the research questions are drawn. [...] Compared to other occupations, health professionals have the lowest level of trust in their employers; the lowest level of commitment to their employers; the lowest ratings of workplace communication; the least influence on workplace decisions, and the least supportive and healthy workplaces (Lowe, 2003). [...] Since the final report of the National Forum on Health (1997), which tabled recommendations for improving the health system and the health of Canadians, there have been various national and provincial reports and studies that have identified strategies for improving workplace conditions and the supply and retention of health workers.
