Our models are capable of assessing changes to both the availability of fishing alternatives and the attractiveness of these alternatives based on the amount, timing, and location of fishing trips by these resident northern Ontario anglers. [...] The expected maximum utility of the available fishing sites, angler characteristics and daily characteristics are all likely to influence the decision to participate in fishing on a given day. [...] Again readers may view the change to economic welfare as the willingness of these anglers to pay to avoid the changes to trout and pan fish populations. [...] The field visits helped to validate the existence and location of access points in the database and provided an opportunity to populate measures for many attributes that may affect an angler’s choice of a fishing site.
