[...] The Research Advisory Committee assisted in the design and development of the research, including supporting the research scope and procedures, in analyzing and interpreting the results, and in communicating these results to the larger community. [...] The Research Team worked with local Aboriginal organizations and agencies to build community awareness and support the study, and to identify survey participants providing traditional, spiritual, and cultural health and healing services. [...] For the purposes of this report, we have identified the term Elders to represent those participants interviewed who are actively engaged in the delivery of traditional, spiritual, and cultural health and healing supports and services in the DTES.
