[...] This report represents the hard work and dedication of all Ontario First Nations, who participated directly and indirectly, towards the betterment of the health and well-being of our Children, Youth, Adults and Elders within our communities. [...] The FNIGC National Office ensured that the RHS research methodologies were ethically congruent to the RHS Code of Research Ethics; acknowledging and respecting the rights of self -determination of all First Nations including the right of First Nations’ jurisdiction and authority to make their own decisions about research practices within their own communities (FNIGC, February 2007). [...] Respecting First Nations and the OCAPTM Principles, the completed Ontario Region RHS 2008/10 report was presented to the First Nations during the COO Health Forum in February 2012.
