The paper presents the sorts of argument given by those who felt that the [...] Using Eichler's characterization of the nature of sexist science, Joy discusses the waves of the debate concerning male bias within anthropology and reveals the complexity of the issues of theory, methodology and language raised by the controversy. [...] As Cameron states, "How one evaluates affirmative action programmes and other policies directed at eliminating sex discrimination in the labour market depends on one's analysis of the causes of that discrimination." In the development of her theme, Cameron outlines the biases evident in the approach of the Fraser Institute to the issues. [...] In the final sections, she shows how "The existence of each type of child abuse can be traced back to the patriarchal organization of society." She also demonstrates the failure of the research on child abuse to make links between the abuse of women and the abuse of children - often by women.
