[...] I was peaceful and happy by the time my parents decided to cross the river in order to fish on the sweeping curve of the river bend. [...] Saturday night the hills of Garia Bay rang to the shouts and merriment of our party, and the city people were terribly impressed by the weekend on the millionaire’s yacht, and the family reunion was a success beyond their wildest dreams. [...] The survivors of the sinking of the SS Caribou on the deck of the Royal Canadian Navy minesweeper Grandmere, on her way to North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
