I was excited about working for them that day, and at about ten in the morning I was turning the corner in the dressing-room hall, and I ran into this thing. [...] Being the cool, down-to-earth, generous person that he is, Dave asked if we'd be going to the Richmond performance the following evening, took our names, and told us to pick up our passes and join him and the band backstage the next night. [...] Just as I was turning the corner I heard a distinct voice coming from the bar: it was Dave, and he was on his way out of the bar, heading for the bathroom. [...] Luckily, the page supervisor thought my stalker potential was low (it was a big no-no to harass the talent), and I was able to sweet talk her into stationing me in the studio for the taping (thanks, Karyn!). [...] When the show ended I (nervously) talked to Dave and told him I was from JMU; he laughed and said he didn't know there were a lot of West Coast fans of the band (so modest).
