The information that is produced from the above values can be used to assess the financial impact of the culture/heritage site being considered to the community, province or country, as well as to the institution itself – the flow-back. [...] Stated in a somewhat different way, the flow-back model measures the return to the institution itself from tourist spending; the total tourism spending generated; as well as the economic impact resulting from total tourist spending attributable to the institution within the area of measurement (e.g. [...] Measure 4 – Flow-Back Model The fourth measure combines the results of the first three financial measures to show the significance of tourist visitors to the site, event or festival, as well as the relative flow- back from tourism spending to the site and the relative flow-back from the economic impact of tourism spending to the site. [...] Economy’s flow-back to the site = (Return to the site / Return to economy) * 100 The second way shows how the site is responsible for relatively large flows to the tourism sector and the economy, and is calculated as the inverse of the first way by creating a multiplier in relation to the return to the site, as follows:. [...] Site’s flow to the economy = (Return to economy / Return to the site) Each of these flow-back calculations uses the actual revenues received by the site from tourists to create percentages of the financial return it induces by tourists, or creates a factor to show returns to tourism and the economy.
