Homelessness among offenders released from federal correctional facilities in Saskatchewan /

The views and conclusions expressed in this project are the personal views of the authors and do not represent the official views of SHC or the Government of Saskatchewan. [...] This project could not have been completed without the co-operation of Saskatchewan agencies and staff, the participation of the ex-offenders who volunteered their time and shared their personal experiences, and the aid of the parole officers in contacting the ex-offenders. [...] Prior to analyzing the findings that address each of the research questions, a description of the housing situation of the participants was provided. [...] The participants were also interviewed once released into the community in order to actually witness the living conditions of the participants and to gain information about their housing situation in the community. [...] The remainder of the identified potential participants did not participate in the study because they were released outside of Saskatchewan (37), the parole officer failed to respond to the request or did so after the inmate had already been released (32), or they declined to participate (15).
