Comparison between correct responses of respondents living in Calgary or Edmonton and other areas to at least half of the age-related child development knowledge questions by developmental domain in Benchmark 2007 and Benchmark 2013 ……………. [...] Policy or practice relevance needs to be considered within the context of the findings, the cost of the intervention, and the implication of these differences. [...] Results suggest the need to continue to normalize and make accessible these supports, the need to emphasize the development of a caring community beyond parents and specific populations, and the need to make these supports part of a guided, coordinated, and integrated provincial strategy. [...] These differences reflect the detection of two coding errors in 2007, and changes in the strategies used for coding and classifying responses in 2007 to match response categories of 2013 and allow the comparison. [...] Ethical approval was granted by the Conjoint Health Research Ethics Board of the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing, and Kinesiology, at the University of Calgary, and the Affiliated Teaching Institutions, in the case of Benchmark 2007, and the Research Ethics Board at the University of Alberta in the case of the Benchmark 2013.
