While contemporary public policy has focused heavily on the development of entrepreneurial start-ups, evidence suggests that Canada's future prosperity and employment growth depends far more on our ability to nuture and support ultra-competitive, high-growth firms, firms that have annual growth rates over 20 percent and have successfully entered overseas markets and invested significantly in research and innovation.
