Celebrating quality in family practices

20 Nov 2011

With the passing of “The Excellent Care for All Act” last year, the focus is now squarely in the realm of enhancing the quality of care throughout the healthcare system. [...] The results of the year long consultation and the recommendations from the Symposium were captured in the document “Vision 2020: Raising the Bar in Family Medicine and Ontario’s Primary Care Sector”. [...] The results of the consultation process led by the OCFP were captured in the lead article in the first volume of HealthPapers. [...] The success of these structural changes required the commitment of the MOHLTC, the Ontario Medical Association and the collaboration of family physicians, as well as all of the other major healthcare stakeholders. [...] The OCFP was honoured to work with the members of McMaster University’s Department of Family Medicine to search the developed world to discover the best of the breed in quality programs for family practices.
