"The purpose of this research was to examine the practice patterns of NPs in primary health care in Nova Scotia. A descriptive survey design was used to address the following research questions: 1) what are the characteristics of NPs, their practice models and settings? 2) what is the profile of the practice population served by NPs and the types of services NPs provide? and, 3) what are the barriers and facilitators to NP role implementation? Data collection occurred during May and June 2008"--P. 6.
