Arctic pollution 2009

"This report is the sixth "State of the Arctic Environment" report addressing environmental contaminants and related matters in the Arctic that has been produced by the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP). ... The current report provides new and updated information in three areas: persistent organic pollutants (POPs), human health, and radioactivity. For these subject areas, new AMAP scientific assessments have been conducted, with results being published in AMAP reports or as papers in the scientific literature. The scientific products and publications upon which this report is based have been subject to rigorous peer review to make sure they are accurate, thorough, and up-to-date. From these materials, this plain-language summary has been written to capture the main messages and make them accessible to general readers."
