The main purpose of the AAEDIRP is to improve the knowledge base concerning Atlantic Aboriginal economic development in order to improve the lives of the Aboriginal people in the region. [...] The First Nation will need to assess the benefits of the project in the context of the economic development goals of their respective community. [...] This paper is the first step to assist the Nova Scotia and New Brunswick communities to become more familiar with the various renewable energy technologies, and to look at the range of opportunities that are possible. [...] This project did not fall under the purview of the Mi’kmaw Ethics Watch Committee set of principles and protocols established to protect the integrity of the cultural knowledge of the Mi’kmaw. [...] The literature review was ongoing, and finalizing the report required a re-assessment of the information to ensure it was current on the date of submission of the final report.
