Transcatheter aortic valve implantation for aortic stenosis

2011

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) was developed as an alternative for patients with severe aortic stenosis that require aortic valve replacement but who are not eligible for conventional surgical aortic valve repair (SAVR). This report will provide a review of the clinical effectiveness and guidelines for the use of transcatheter aortic valve implantation for aortic stenosis, through trans-femoral and trans-apical routes.
