Statistics Canada 5 2006 Aboriginal Population Profile for Fredericton Introduction This report examines the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the Aboriginal population living in the census agglomeration (CA) of Fredericton.1 The First Nations reserve communities of St. [...] There were 2,375 Aboriginal people living in the census agglomeration of Fredericton, which represented 3% of the total population of the CA. [...] In 2006, the median age3 of the Aboriginal population in Fredericton was 27 years, compared to 39 years for the non-Aboriginal population. [...] In 2006, almost half (48%) of the Aboriginal people in Fredericton were under the age of 25, compared to 31% of the non-Aboriginal population. [...] Of those aged 45 years and older, 8% of Aboriginal people were in school in 2006, compared to 4% of the non-Aboriginal population (see table 3 in the appendix).
