Public health relates to the health of entire populations, from health promotion to health protection, disease and injury prevention, health assessment and surveillance. [...] The report is timely given the national focus that the federal government has placed on public health over the past three years—particularly with the creation of a Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) followed by a series of initial investments intended to build capacity to anticipate and respond to the public health needs of the country.
