In order to get a clearer indication of the range of innovative applied degree, joint degree, and post diploma college programs and their relevance to the creative economy, the third section will give a brief overview of the range of programs that clearly meet the criteria of ‘creative occupations’, augmented by a series of very brief case studies of individual programs (see Appendix A). [...] In fact, engineering and applied science was the only field of study at the college level that resulted in salaries within the range of university disciplines, and “the median income for 1995 college graduates in this field was equal to the median income of bachelor graduates overall” (Allen, Harris and Butlin 2003, 28). [...] In other words, the discrepancy in earnings between college and university graduates in the arts is not a large one, and median earnings at the top end of the range are the same for college and university graduates.
