[...] The committee would be accountable to the Minister of Health and Wellness and chaired by someone who will champion addiction services in the province, is knowledgeable and experienced in the addiction field and possesses a passion about creating a vision for integrated addiction services in Alberta. [...] Further, the recommendations are consistent with the current direction of the Ministry of Health and Wellness in taking a broader system view of health services, and with the Alberta Government priority to increase access to quality health care and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health delivery.
