While training and education activities are critically important for both new staff and boards and as a continuing education and adaptation of existing staff, any educational strategy must be developed with a big picture and long term perspective, framed around the fundamental question: how will we manage the social housing asset to ensure it continues to serve households in need well into the fut [...] To complement the qualitative analysis previously undertaken for CHRA, the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONHPA) commissioned this current work to developing a better understanding of just how serious and how imminent the impact of retirements will be in Ontario This brief first reviews the methodology and data quality issues. [...] There are 5 positions in each of the two 6 largest provider groupings (501- 4 1000 and 1000+) and the majority of these are in the Central, Metro 2 and Eastern (ONPHA) regions of 0 the province. [...] A significant number of executive directors/general managers plan to retire in the next two years and will be closely paralleled by the concurrent retirement of other senior staff. [...] To the extent that government benefits from the non-profit delivery of social housing and has a mutual interest in a strong sector, some support from government may also be beneficial in undertaking this type of initiative.
