[...] This could be due in part to changes in the census questions used to determine the Inuit ancestry population and more specifically, changes in the way people chose to answer them. [...] Those changes in reporting are also likely responsible in part for jumps in the proportion of Inuit with trades, college and university diplomas and degrees from 1986 to 1991.4 The non-Inuit population also made gains at all levels over time and as a result, a significant gap still existed between Inuit and non-Inuit.
