Education and labour market pathways of young Canadians between age 20 and 22: an overview Acknowledgements The authors wish to thank all those involved in the development and production of the Youth in Transition Survey at Statistics Canada (STC) and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). [...] In the first cycle of YITS, youth were between the ages of 18 to 20 and their education and labour market status was assessed as of December 1999. [...] The most common school-labour market transition made by youth between Twelve percent of age 20 and 22 was from being in school to working full-time: 12% of youth were youth moved from being in school at age in school at age 20 and were not in school and working full-time two years later. [...] The move from school to work was evident for the majority of youth who were not in school by age 20: 64% of them were working at the age of 20 and again at the age of 22.
