A greater number of municipalities developed and updated their MAPs following the release of two foundational public health documents: the Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines in 1997, and the Ontario Public Health Standards in 2009.6 This primer is designed to explain the MAP development and/or revision process for health promotion and public health practitioners.
