Internal audit report. Value for money audit of the Giant Mine Remediation Project

In 1999, the mine owner (Royal Oak Mines) was assigned into receivership and the Government of Canada, under the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development Act and the Northwest Territories Water Act, assumed administration and control of the mine with the responsibility for the protection of the environment and human health safety.
