The 22 known Canadian subpopulations are found in two disjunct regions, the northern one centred in the southern Ogilvie Mountains and the southern in the Dawson and Ruby ranges. [...] Though the IAO is below the threshold for Endangered, and there is a slight decline in habitat, the EO exceeds thresholds, the population is not considered to be severely fragmented, there are 22 locations, and the population is not believed to undergo extreme fluctuations. [...] DISTRIBUTION Global Range Yukon Podistera is found in unglaciated areas of the Yukon River drainage in eastern Alaska and west-central Yukon, along with one subpopulation that occurs in the upper reaches of the Pacific drainage in Yukon. [...] To the northeast of the Klondike Plateau Ecoregion, five subpopulations are found within the Mackenzie Mountains Ecoregion; to the east, one subpopulation is found in the Yukon Plateau North Ecoregion; to the southeast, two subpopulations are found in the Yukon Plateau Central Ecoregion; and to the south, three subpopulations are found in the Ruby Ranges Ecoregion (Smith et al. [...] Although these coordinates fall to the east of the subpopulation found in 2012, it is believed that they are likely the same subpopulation as there was no suitable habitat at the 1982 coordinates, and a hand-drawn map by the original collector (Frisch 1983) corresponds to the new discovery.
